We have been changing the dinosaur property model for quite some time but back then, the mass housing market in Australia were not fully ready for the Future Housing Taskforce to which our Founding CEO has been a member of the taskforce for many years. This was a project we did a while ago for Better Homes and Gardens to demonstrate how mortgage free homes can be achieved. We built this home of around 300 m2 and each room was lettable. In total 5 rooms at around about $330 per week for each room that was letted. This gave the home owner who lived on the premises, quite a bit of income. When comparing the mortgage repayments of $40,000 per year, the property design and strategy was essentially mortgage free. The property paid for itself whilst the home owner maintained their residence on the property.
